Cruises have become the ultimate vacation choice for travelers worldwide. However, a little known downfall to this mode of vacationing is the little extra fees that seem to start adding up once you set sail - $3.00 for a coke, a $5.00 tip, and a small fortune for a margarita! However, all inclusive Caribbean cruises, allow you sit back and relax, knowing the tab is not running.
While every cruise is different, most are not all inclusive – meaning they usually only include the trip, meals, and entertainment. This leaves a plethora of other extras that you are left paying for individually.
Of course, there are certain things on a cruise that can not be included in the overall price, such as shore excursions. While you are traveling the sea, the boat you are on will take port several times, meaning it will dock and you will have a chance to exit. This is an opportunity to experience new cultures, shop, and sightsee. If an organized tour is arranged, travel will probably be provided, as well as meals. You should also check on drinks. While alcoholic beverages are not usually incorporated, sodas may also cost extra. This could be a large additional expense if you prefer to drink cokes, or if you are taking children or teenagers that do so. Special entertainment is another aspect in which you could incur expenditures. Most of the entertainment will be included, but be sure to check on spa packages, classes, and individual activities, as they will sometimes not be included in the overall price of the cruise.
